Natural Remedies for Arthritis Pain and Inflammation
It all starts off as a little discomfort, an ache, a bit of stiffness and maybe even a decrease in the range of motion. Some days it is bad and other days you hardly notice it. You can feel it in your elbows, knees, hips, ankles… well pretty much anywhere you have a joint in your body. Arthritis affects one in three people between the ages of 18 – 64 in the US alone and can become completely debilitating for anyone suffering from it. Whether you suffer from RA ( Rheumatoid Arthritis ) or OA ( Osteoarthritis), pain is always associated with both of these. In many cases Arthritis is not formally diagnosed until symptoms become so severe and the person/patient had been suffering for years.
Arthritis is regarded as one of the most common chronic conditions. Pain, swelling and inflammation (ranging from mild to severe) are some of the symptoms doctors treat on a daily basis. The most common use of Opioids are responsible for the treatment of Arthritis. This is quite astounding, as the Opioid industry ( or pain management market ) is a $45 billion industry and growing. As arthritis is not a condition that goes away ( in fact it usually just gets worse ), nor does the pain and the management of it. It is safe to assume that long term use of opioids are the general direction. This could lead to multiple complications and addictions. The sad fact is that opioids are the most common cause of preventable death in the US today.
